After publishing, Mama Needs a Refill: Finding Light in the Midst of Madness, the book for any caregiver, I learned from friends, clients and readers that many prefer to listen to audio books then to hold the book in their hands.
We all process and learn in our own unique way. Some prefer listening, others reading. Clients asked, “When will the audio version be out and will you be the one to narrate?”
I have answers, “May 2nd 2025, and yes.”
Spotify, Audible, Barnes and Noble and more I am learning, will drop my book in a few days, and you can save and pre-order now.
No one likes listening to their own voice, I am not unique in this opinion. And it was a treat to read the whole thing out loud even if I squirmed a bit at the sound of my voice. I remembered, was reminded and relearned my lessons, insight and as one critic shared, “ordinary wisdom.” It’s helpful at this stage in my life to be prompted and inspired by words I knew I must get down on the page.
If you have been inspired to write a book, know this: we never know exactly who it is for. It may have been for the person who wrote a book review, the one who stopped you at the grocery store. Even if it was just for me, a book need only be for one person. One inspired thought can hold up many. Listen to the voice calling, nudging, urging you forward. Listen to the voice that wants to be shared and heard in all forms.
Trust the voice, even if it sounds unfamiliar or makes you uncomfortable. If when writing the words you are tapping into your truth, allow the discomfort, charge forward. Make space for the awkward, allow the unfolding.
Cheers, Jenny
